Brown Suede Blazer
After what felt like an endless two year search, I finally found the brown suede blazer of my dreams. Oversized, rich chocolate brown, and makes a statement just by existing. Bonus that it looks just as chic unbuttoned over a white tee or buttoned up with just a bra underneath.
Camel Boyfriend Blazer
You can’t have a fall capsule wardrobe without a classic camel blazer. It’s science. The more timeless, the better. That way it never goes out of style and can be worn a limitless amount of ways with the rest of your fall capsule pieces.
Black Boyfriend Blazer
Is it even a fall capsule without a black blazer? This one by Open Edit is a fantastic price point with a classic one-button closure and relaxed fit. That said, this blazer is meant to be oversized so if you prefer more of a fitted look, size down one.
Black Leather Jacket
For so long, the moto style leather jacket dominated the space but this season, we’re moving away from that. I love this modern silhouette by MANGO. The cropped length keeps it edgy and I love the clean look with no hardware. This jacket will look great with jeans or as a lighter layer for a night out.
Long Trench Coat
My advice: claim the classic trench coat as your outfit bestie until it’s cold enough to need something heavier. The trench coat is kind of like an avocado; it’s only ripe to wear for a small window of time, so get one now and capitalize on its versatility while you can!
Brown Wrap Coat
I am loving the deeper, richer tone of this wool wrap coat compared to the lighter color of the last few years. Wrap coats remain one of my favorite jacket styles for cooler weather because of the feminine element they offer. Unlike traditional button coats, the wrap accentuates your female figure in a chic way.
White T-Shirt
I consider myself a white tee connoisseur of sorts, and this one by Zara is actually perfect. The reason I love it even more for fall and winter is because the neckline is high enough that it peeks out from under sweaters, which is a look I absolutely love. For under $30, you absolutely need to add this to your arsenal.
Short Sleeve Grey Sweater
Every woman needs a short sleeve sweater at-the-ready for fall and winter, and this one by Zara is truly perfection. The mid-gray color is exactly right as is the fit of this piece. It’s 100% wool and you 100% need it, trust me. This is something you will wear over and over and over.
Black Ruched Tip
I love this top for a capsule wardrobe because the side ruching makes it even more versatile. If it was a plain black top, it’d be perfect for daytime looks. But the side ruching elevates it a bit and makes it possible to wear on its own in the evening and still make a statement with your outfit. Also love the price point!
Denim Shirt
Remember in the early 2010s when chambray button downs had a chokehold on all of us? Not saying that’s back, but a relaxed, truly comfortable denim button down is worth its weight in gold for a fall capsule. I love this particular one from Aritzia in “5 Yrs Kiss N Tell.” Endless ways to style it with the rest of your capsule!
Black Button Up Silk Shirt
There’s something to be said for a black silk utility shirt and just how chic it can be. This one from Banana is the perfect take on it. It’s long, which means the styling options are endless and you can get creative with how you wear it. Pair it with jeans or tuck it into a skirt with knee high boots for a flirtier evening look.
Beige Sweater
A good beige sweater can go the distance during the fall and winter months. Love this one by BP at Nordstrom. The crewneck, ribbed cuffs and hemline, and drop shoulders make it an instant go-to in a capsule wardrobe. It’s an easy color and fit, both of which make it an easy-to-wear sweater.
Brown Sweater
Brown is the color of the season, so having a rich chocolate brown sweater in your fall line-up is a smart idea. This is the same sweater as the aforementioned beige sweater because when you find a piece that is made well and fits right, why not get a few colors?
Denim Mini Skirt
This just in: denim mini skirts are not just for the spring and summer. It’s amazing how easily a denim skirt can transition into fall wear with a simple sweater and some knee high boots. One of my favorite looks, to be honest.
White Mini Skirt
First and foremost, this white mini skirt is lined so you don’t need to worry about giving anyone a free show. This high-waist, A-line skirt is a perfect winter white, and I have a sense it’s going to be a big star come this fall and winter.
Black Trouser Shorts
Another great alternative to jeans and pants during the fall and winter season is a pair of dressy black trouser shorts like these from Aritzia. These are a mini length with a pleat and sit loosely on the thigh, almost in an A-line shape. I chose these for this capsule because they would truly look killer with every other piece featured.
Ecru Jeans
These Reformation jeans in Fior Di Latte are the epitome of a good winter white. Plus, they’re a mid-rise, relaxed fit which lends itself beautifully to a layered jacket or oversized sweater.
Straight Leg Jeans
These have been my go-to classic jeans for months now. Perfect rise, perfect length, perfect fit. I also love the subtle acid wash finish for a throwback vibe. These jeans truly go with everything and are such a good staple to have in your closet year-round.
Black Leather Pants
Made with 50% recycled leather, these are killer for a fall capsule wardrobe. To me, a good pair of “leather” pants are an instant outfit elevator without having to think too hard about the look. Simply swap out jeans for these and you’ve created way more interest and edge!
Black/Gold Belt
You only need one belt in your closet, and it’s this skinny black number by Khaite. Classic design, perfect width, and goes with literally any and everything.
Ivory Handbag
This is the perfect daytime bag, especially because it can be worn with the strap long or short. The ivory is such a good tone and pairs extremely well with just about everything I’ve featured in this fall capsule wardrobe. When it comes to handbags in general, don’t be afraid of white/ivory tones! It’s SO chic.
Black Handbag
This elongated Khaite shoulder bag is everything. Love the zipper top, especially that it’s plated in 18k gold to add some pop. The “baguette” silhouette is so fun and can be worn for daytime events or evening plans.
Brown Sneakers
The rich brown color trend doesn’t stop at clothes; it reaches all the way down to your feet, too. Brown suede sneakers are the go-to this fall season, so I highly recommend adding a pair to your line-up for all the casual looks. They’re versatile and statement-making at the same time, which we love.
Beige Slingbacks
These shoes are everything my closet has been missing and are the perfect way to elevate any look especially if you are still wanting to keep it somewhat casual and lower to the ground. I wear them with jeans, shorts, skirts —really they go with it all.
Black Ballet Flats
It took me YEARS to finally cave into the ballerina trend, and now the OG leather cap toe is my favorite. Some reviews will say they’re not comfortable, but for me, they’re actually my most comfortable shoe? In fact, I’ve worn them to walk all over London for 10+ hours!
Black Heeled Sandals
These are my go-to sandals when I’m dressing up a look. Sleek, minimal, and ALMOST perfectly comfortable — my feet do slide down a little in them, so I use these and they are a game changer. Now, they’re exactly right and 100% comfortable.
Black Leather Boots
My love affair with these booties has been going strong for a few years now. In fact, I love them so much, I have them in the black suede and brown suede as well. It simply isn’t fall without a perfect pair of black leather ankle booties and these are a worthy investment.
Black Knee High Boots
I wish I had these boots my whole life. Every time I wear them, someone stops me in public to ask what they are. They’re truly the perfect boot: perfect fit, perfect silhouette, perfect height etc. I especially love wearing them with mini skirts, dresses, and skorts.
