It’s no secret I love a good handbag. Handbags are the ultimate investment purchase as far as I’m concerned. I’m not sure where this love of bags started, but it’s been going strong for many years now.
When I sat down to collect my thoughts for this “top 10” letter, things went sideways quickly. I had a solid seven chosen, but started to remember this one! And that one! And this one! I also tried to narrow the list down with day and night bags, but so many are interchangeable and I also don’t believe in assigning anything to a certain time of day.
Eventually, I got there. So without further adieu, here are the 10 handbags I ride for always.
My Handbags
Bottega Veneta: Hop
I got her late fall last year, and she very quickly became my go-to every day bag. The size, the shape, and the durability of this bag is all just so perfect. The real deal-sealer, though, was the color. The “dark praline” is s stunning and rich, and actually goes with pretty much everything I wear. Plus, it’s an every season kind of handbag. Wins across the board! (Outfit details here).
Hermès: Kelly 32
This was my 41st birthday present to me. I’d been admiring her from afar for forever, and what better occasion to treat yourself than your birthday?! Because I was in San Diego to celebrate, I went to the Fashionphile headquarters to look at a few in person. The sales associate pulled this one for me knowing it was a birthday treat and, get this — this exact Box Leather Sellier Hermès just so happens to be from the same year I was born! It’s so special and absolute perfection. (Outfit details here).
Toteme: T-Lock Handbag
This is my tried and true, steady and consistent bestie. I purchased it two spring seasons ago and have used it consistently ever since. The leather is gorgeous and durable, the soft white pairs flawlessly with my outfits, and the subtle styling lets the bag speak for itself. Quiet and understated. The only con is it’s not as easy to travel with since it doesn’t collapse, so if I need to travel with it, I use it as my personal carry-on item. (Outfit details here).
Celine: Teen lulu
This is my newest bag, and I’m obsessed. So much so that it made my top 10 list! I’m surprised at how much it actually holds: phone, small card wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick, and hand lotion! I’ve been using it as my cutie little day-time bag and just love it! (Outfit details here).
Amazon: Top Handle Clutch
For a more budget friendly option, I found myself drawn to this cutie from Amazon! I use as a clutch, but it comes with a crossbody strap so you have options. I love the elephant grey color (reads taupe) and it works for a lot of my evening outfits. I pretty much use this one exclusively for night, but she may see the sun one of these days! And yes, my phone fits in this bag with no problem (I have the 16 pro max). (Outfit details here).
Bottega Veneta: Teen Jodie
If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’re used to seeing me carry this bag as it’s probably been my #1 for years. Day. Night. Travel. Whenever, wherever — doesn’t matter. When I purchased it, it was THE bag of the moment, which made me hesitate, but not for long. The Teen Jodie is still one of my favorite bags, and it only gets better and better with wear. The leather is phenomenal, and the teen size really holds everything you need without bulk. It also works perfect as an evening bag. For a comparison between the Teen Jodie and the Large Hop, watch my reel! (Outfit details here).
Khaite: Simona Shoulder Bag
I got this one during a trip to Dallas earlier this year from the new Khaite boutique. You know how they say “you just know”? Well, the second I laid eyes on this bag, I knew it was coming home with me. The color, the texture, the shape — it was all intoxicating. This bag is unlike anything I own, so I knew I would get a lot of wear out of it, and I have. This one holds so much without feeling bulky, and fits comfortably on my shoulder. It’s a perfect day-to-night bag, too. For more behind the scenes on this bag, watch this reel! (Outfit details here).
Rabanne: 1969 Moon Shoulder Bag
To say I’m shocked at how much I use this bag is an understatement. I got it last spring for a special event in Nashville and thought it would just be my “special occasion” bag going forward, but I underestimated its versatility in a huge way. I use this bag at least once a week and get stopped over it every time. Is it practical? No. Does it hold a lot? Also no. But is it unique and fun? Yes! This is a fashion > function bag, for sure. It can carry my small card wallet, key fob, and one lipstick. I can squeeze my phone in if I need to, but it’s glued to my hand 99% of the time anyway. (Outfit details here).
The Row: Half Moon Bag
I love the modern minimalism of this The Row bag. The streamlined silhouette, suede lining, and comfortable flat shoulder strap is understated elegance at its best. This looks just as flawless with a white tee and jeans as it does with a date night look. Again, holds exactly what I need! (Outfit details here).
Khaite: Lina Crossbody Bag
Khaite has me in a chokehold across the board (this outfit is almost entirely Khaite), but I couldn’t resist this bag. I love the texture and snakeskin design. While it has a crossbody function, I use it mostly as a clutch, mostly because I just haven’t really been into crossbody bags lately. But again, if there is a theme to all these bags (less one), they’re gorgeous, sturdy, and hold all the essentials comfortably! (Outfit details here).
